Challenge: 50 Peaks to 50
Michael’s new mission: Running 50 peaks by age 50!
Michael who ‘Traveled the World for Free’ and ‘Traded Up Around the World – From an Apple to a House in Hawaii,’ is now taking on a new personal challenge: Running up 50 mountain peaks across North America before turning 50.
Under the title Run4Health – 50 Peaks to 50, the trail runner and mental health coach is combining endurance sport with a deeper message: promoting movement and outdoor activity as essential elements of mental health – not just for individuals, but for society as a whole.
42 Peaks Down – 8 to Go!
So far, Michael has run 42 peaks, all above 9,000 feet, some exceeding 14,000 feet. Over the next twelve months, he plans to complete the final eight – including one over 16,000 feet high, a volcano in Mexico. His weekly training includes 25 to 30 miles of trail running on mountain terrain.

Challenge to Raise Awareness for Health
Michael’s own Burnout/Depression Experiences
Michael is not only chasing peaks – he’s also committed to raising awareness. After experiencing burnout/depression in 2011 and again in 2017, he changed his life fundamentally. Physical activity became the key to his healing process. Today, as a certified mental health coach, he helps others manage stress, build resilience, and create healthier lives.
“For me, mental health isn’t just about diagnosis or therapy – it’s about taking action, moving your body, reconnecting with nature,” says Michael.
“Run4Health is my way of bringing that conversation into the public space – to show that mental strength can begin on a mountain trail, not just in a counselor’s office.”
