Business Motivational Speaker: Hire The Five Different Types!

Introduction

As a meeting planner, you want to find the best possible motivational speaker for your event. One way to do this is to consider speakers from different backgrounds, each with their unique stories of overcoming adversity and achieving success.

1. Motivational Adventure Speaker

Some business motivational speakers have gone on incredible adventures, whether that’s climbing a mountain or sailing around the world. These speakers can inspire audiences with their tales of perseverance and determination. For example, Jamie Clarke, a Canadian adventurer, has climbed Mount Everest twice and has led expeditions to remote parts of the world. His experiences have taught him valuable lessons about leadership, risk management, and teamwork, which he shares with his audiences.

2. Motivational Speaker with a Physical Challenge

Some speakers have faced physical challenges and have overcome them to achieve success in business. For example, Bethany Hamilton is a professional surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13. She returned to surfing just one month later and has gone on to become a champion surfer and a motivational speaker. Her story of resilience and determination can inspire audiences to overcome their own challenges and pursue their goals.

3. From Poor to Rich Speaker

Some business motivational speakers have started from humble beginnings and have built successful businesses from scratch. These speakers can share valuable insights into entrepreneurship and the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance.

For example, Daymond John is an American businessman, investor, and TV personality who grew up in a low-income family in Queens, New York. He is the founder of the fashion brand FUBU and is a regular on the TV show Shark Tank. He shares his experiences and insights into entrepreneurship with audiences around the world.

4. Motivational Speaker with an Incredible Achievement

Some motivational speakers have achieved incredible feats in business, such as creating a multi-million dollar company or leading a successful turnaround. These speakers can inspire audiences with their stories of vision, persistence, and leadership. For example, John Paul DeJoria is an American entrepreneur who co-founded the hair care company Paul Mitchell and the tequila brand Patrón.

He has also been involved in philanthropy and social activism. His story of creating successful companies while remaining committed to social responsibility can inspire audiences to pursue their own passions and make a positive impact in the world.

5. Speakers Who Overcame Challenges

Finally, some speakers have overcome personal challenges such as addiction, illness, or mental health issues to achieve success in business. These speakers can share valuable insights into resilience, recovery, and the importance of taking care of oneself. For example, Mel Robbins is an American author, speaker, and TV host who struggled with anxiety and self-doubt for years before developing the “5 Second Rule” to overcome procrastination and self-doubt. Her story of overcoming personal challenges and developing practical strategies to achieve success can inspire audiences to take action and make positive changes in their lives.

Conclusion – Business Motivational Speakers

In conclusion, there are many different backgrounds from which business motivational speakers can come, each with their unique stories of overcoming adversity and achieving success. When choosing a speaker for your event, consider what message you want to convey to your audience and what kind of speaker would resonate with them. By finding the right speaker, you can inspire your audience to pursue their goals, overcome their challenges, and achieve success in their personal and professional lives.

3 Aspects Of a Top Business Motivational Speaker

How Do Your Adventures Connect to Your Client’s Needs?

Wigge: Most corporations and associations that book me as a motivational speaker seem to have five significant needs they want to be fulfilled by a speaker:

  1. They want their staff to leave the keynote session refreshed and motivated to strive for certain company goals (for example, better sales, advanced change management, or stronger leadership).
  2. They want their staff to have a memorable experience that leaves a lasting impression. Something they still talk about weeks later.
  3. They prefer all conference participants to be highly entertained in between learning sessions.
  4. They want their staff or clients to learn simple strategies to develop their leadership, sales, self-motivation, or change management skills.
  5. They want their target audience to get an out-of-the-box perspective through the incredible experiences of a business motivational speaker.

I do my very best to satisfy all five major needs of my clients.

How Are You Doing that as a Business Motivational Speaker?

Wigge: Well, professional keynote speaking is far more than just one hour on stage. Preparation, intense client contact, speaking, and post-conference support are what is required for a motivational business speaker to be at the top level in the United States.

Let’s start with the first aspect. My clients’ employees usually leave my keynotes highly motivated because I connect to the crowd emotionally during the session by:

  1. Interactive elements, including questions to audience members
  2. Humor
  3. Personal stories they can relate to

Can You Share More About Your Change Keynotes?

My change management presentation is based on my adventure story of traveling around the world with no money. People are encouraged by it, but the personal connection starts when I break down my change management experiences to a level where everyone has experienced something similar. I talk about how I had a hard time adopting change being on the road, how hard it was to constantly change plans, and how stressful it was to get used to new people over and over again.

When I explain these little things and demonstrate that I am not a natural-born expert on change management, I usually see many people in the crowd agreeing with what I’m saying with a big smiles. I create the audience connection by sharing that I find change management as hard as they do.

Next comes the second aspect: humor. I often talk about myself in a rather ironic way, and I don’t take myself too seriously. A typical start to my stress management keynote would be, ‘Hey everyone, today you are meeting the number one stress management patient (me).’

People start by having a laugh, and they realize I don’t want to be the hero or the expert but rather the guy who had to learn stress management the hard way after experiencing serious stress symptoms during a few of my projects. Basically, I present myself as someone who has had to learn over and over again. People find my style relatable, funny, and a great way to learn.

Which Is Your Most Out-Of-The-Box Experience?

Well, How to Travel the World for Free is big for many clients because they might have seen the TV show or my book presentation on The Tonight Show. But How to Barter for Paradise seems to be the most impressive because not many people have managed yet to turn a small item like an apple into a real house in Hawaii by trading.

This sounds out-of-the-box that many of my keynotes dealing with this challenge get re-booked by clients just to hear this story one more time. In fact, all meeting participants get a free book of mine after a session to keep them motivated for the long term bringing high benefit to their company.

Thanks,

Michael Wigge
